Voyazh.

Why this project

Voyazh is an iOS travel planner for bringing your trip together.

The idea came from an actual problem I had - I had to plan a trip in California which covered flights, road trips, hotels and numerous stops. The hardest part was the planning - pin pointing each location I wanted to visit, while sticking close to my hotels.

At the same time I was trying out making YouTube videos, so I felt this was a great way to create something and talk about it on my channel.

Where it stands

After many delays, reworks and patience, Voyazh is waiting for the AppStore team to review the app for it to be published and become publicly available. Unless there’s serious demand, I am not planning to create an Android counterpart - I solved the sharing feature by allowing non-ios users view your trip in a browser.

Lessons learned

Voyazh was the first mobile app I worked on, and with that came a lot of knowledge about how my development environment has to be set up, the different accounts and subscritpions I had to acquire.

More importantly however, was the lesson of properly designing the app from the beginning, sticking to the core features and focusing on the ‘closed loop’ that the user can keep coming back to.

Can’t say I fully succeeded in achieving everything I wanted, but a solid first step nonetheless.
