BuildFlipper
A SaaS app for managing PC building and flipping businesses. It solved a real problem, but never managed to gain users.
View ProjectWhy it did not work
Solved a real workflow, but did not find enough demand to keep pushing it.
What happened
Built end-to-end tooling for tracking PC builds, parts inventory, and resale margins. Onboarded a handful of hobbyist flippers but never crossed the threshold where organic word-of-mouth carried it.
Lessons learned
- A workflow being real is not the same as a market being real — verify willingness to pay before writing the CRUD.
- Niche hobby SaaS lives or dies on being where the community already hangs out (Discord, Reddit), not on a landing page.
- Solo distribution is the actual product; budget time for it up front instead of assuming the tool sells itself.
