FolkKeep.
A personal CRM for keeping your people close.
Why this project
FolkKeep is a personal CRM for keeping your people close.
There are four children in my family. Some of siblings have children of their own. I have friends that I’ve known for years. But often I find myself forgetting birthdays or important updates from their lives. I wanted to build an app for myself to keep track of this. Addtionally, since this app will have the record of my whole family, I wanted to have the option of viewing my family tree.
Learning from my previous experience I decided that the app should be free, after all CRMs is an over saturated market, and a subscription doesn’t make sense. So I designed it with the idea that I will not spend infrastructure costs if possible - and store all data locally, allowing syncing across devices for a fee.
Where it stands
FolkKeep is in development. Currently preparing it for launch on the AppStore. This time I also decided to launch (and develop) on Android and web.
Lessons learned
Notes from building FolkKeep are coming soon.
